Review: See U Village Steamboat Restaurant, Paradigm Mall

I've been craving healthy food lately, particularly vegetables. So on a recent weekend, I asked the hubby if we could go to the new steamboat restaurant @ Paradigm Mall, so that I can gorge on vegetables. As stated in the Paradigm Mall website, this restaurant is Halal. So off we went to See U Village Steamboat!

Update 2016: Kindly note that the link in the Paradigm Mall website above that says the restaurant is Halal no longer exists, and the bunting outside the restaurant, which says it is in the process of applying for a Halal certification from JAKIM is still there after years have passed. Please take this into consideration before dining there.

Their set meals are good value and they have six different broths to choose from! Note, you can change the noodles in the set meals for rice, we did.

We found out later that the set meals come in big portions, but you can always add on if you like! 

I didn't take pictures of the interior of the restaurant because it was quite full and it's impolite to take pics of people eating :) anyway, this banquette should give you an idea of their seating. 

Here's our table, which seats four. As you can see, each diner has his/her own steamboat "portal." I asked for mild chicken broth and my husband asked for spicy tom yam. 

They will send over some condiments, including  fresh sambal belacan and fried shallots in oil.

I ordered the yong tau foo set. Such a big portion! I took home almost half of what you see here. 

Something very satisfying about cooking your own food!

 My husband ordered the lamb set. The meat was very tender :) After more than 10 years of marriage, I learnt that this was his first time having steamboat!

My son wanted the usual fried chicken wings and chips! 

The meal was good and I washed it down with a lemon-selasih drink. 

At the end of our meal, we got Amir a home made aiskrim potong, which they sell in front of the restaurant :) In our hurry to get to the hypermarket, I forgot to take a shot of the front of the restaurant. Perhaps next time!
