A close eye @ Venusbuzz.com

I admit, as a parent, I'm pretty paranoid. Whenever we go out, for example, I get my son to recite the following rule - "Stick to mummy like glue". Well, I truly believe that we can never play it too safe when it comes to our children, which is why I wrote this article for Venus.

Sew-phisticated Beauty @ Essenze magazine

Check out the latest issue of Essenze magazine (Vol 14-09), they've made my article a cover story ;) This time, I've written something on the art of Malay embroidery. My husband and I are leaving for Sydney in a few days, I'm so excited!

The Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion brochure

I got a brochure in the mail today, so it's official, the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion will be out in May 2010! I wrote an essay called "Textile Traditions of Malaysia and Its Impact on Dress" for the South Asia and Southeast Asia volume back in 2006. It's been 3 years in the making, so I'm pretty darn excited!

The 10-volume Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion will be published in May 2010. It will also be an online encyclopedia called Berg Fashion Library. To keep up to date on this publication, sign up for the Berg Fashion Library Newsletter at www.BergFashionLibrary.com

Editing for 1.com.my

Sigh... I'm pretty depressed because I wasn't able to find my lost hamster last night. I looked everywhere, and it's killing me to think that its alone, hungry and scared. On a more positive note, I've got myself a new gig! I'll be helping an existing client edit posts on their corporate blog - 1.com.my. Here's one I did recently on a Malaysian artist, more to come!

Where's my hamster?

I did a very, very stupid thing yesterday... I fed my hamsters Cuddly and Snuggly, and then I left Snuggly's cage door open. I only noticed that he was missing this morning, and we couldn't really look for him because my husband and I had to go to work. When I arrived home just now, I searched everywhere for him. Still no Snuggly. I'm so worried!!

Still, amidst my growing concern for my pet, I thought of writing a short story about a lost hamster, or about his adventures around the house. A quick search on the Internet yielded that a tale of this sort has already been written by James Preller and published by Scholastic. It's called "Case of Kermie the Missing Hamster".

What a fun read! You can buy the book on Amazon.com and browse inside here. Wish me luck with my hamster hunt... I think I will write that story after I've gotten over the heartbreak of losing my hammie.

Welcome 2019: Time to Grow
