My articles in the last issue of I.M. magazine

I am happy to share with you my latest articles, but I am saddened to tell you that this will be the last issue of I.M. magazine. Unlike other local mags, I.M. has always been different. It always looks cool, the content is contributed by the people and if anything, it's unusual and quirky in a fabulous way. Still, all good things must come to an end at some point, and for I.M. it's their 50th issue. I hope another creative and quirky mag will soon take its place (fingers crossed), but I.M. will always be close to my heart XOXO.

How's everyone? Good I hope. As for me... I've been working my butt off :P I've just finished writing a bunch of web articles and editing a PhD thesis. On top of that, I'm in the process of editing a self-help book and some web content. 

I've also signed up for a few magazine and journal articles, but don't worry, I'm not one to bite off more than I can chew. I've planned it all out and I've never missed a deadline yet! Though I've got quite a bit on my plate, I'm pleased to bring you my latest article in the May-June 2013 issue of I.M. magazine:

Blast from the past & Felt food tute @ I.M. mag Dec 2012

Check out the awesomeness of December's I.M. magazine cover! I've got 2 articles out this month. The first, entitled Blast From the Past, looks at things that will get you into that 70s groove. The second is another felt food tutorial, this time for sandwich biscuits, which is also featured at my other blog My Felt Friends :)

Food frenzy @ I.M. Magazine

This month, I.M. magazine is covering food, glorious food! So as a dedicated hantu makan, I have contributed not one, but two articles to this fun, quirky mag. The first article, Bucket List Eats, lists the 10 foods to try before you die. The second article, is a felt food tutorial on how to make iced gem biscuits.

Go bananas over the latest I.M. magazine :)

Don't you just love this cover? The bright yellow is just so fetching! When I first discovered I.M. magazine mid last year, I never dreamed that they would have me as a frequent contributor. Happily, this is my 6th month of writing for them :) Time flies! 

I have two write ups in this month's issue: A blogger's piece for 1 Malaysia in Reality and Songtik: A Twist on Tradition. Hope you like them :)

Latest articles in I.M. magazine :)

The best way to start anything, is with a positive attitude and a sense of humour, right? Aptly, I.M. magazine kicks off 2012 with a feature on up-and-coming Malaysian stand-up comedians. I adore the likes of Russel Peters, Dave Chapelle and Gabriel Iglesias, so I can understand why these guys (and girls) would want to do this. I haven't seen Malaysian stand up though, but I've got my fingers crossed for them.

Anyway, this month's I.M. contains not one, but two write ups by yours truly :) The first is a blogger's piece on "The funniest thing that ever happened to me," and the second is a review of Touchybooks' interactive story books for kids, which has a picture of my son :) He was thrilled to see himself in print!

If I had 48 hours to live @ I.M. Magazine

Hi everybody! I'm awfully excited because... here's my debut in I.M. magazine! 

For this issue, the editor asked me to write something on the topic "If I had 48 hours to live." I couldn't help but cry while writing the article, because  I had to confront my worse fear - losing my family. It made me realise just how precious each moment is, particularly with our children, so let's not waste any more time and energy on hate, anger or stress. Let's be thankful for all our blessings, embrace life and each silver lining and smile!

Coming to I.M. magazine :)

If you haven't checked out I.M.magazine already, you so should! This home-grown mag has been around for a couple of years, so I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I only found out about them in June. Their bright yellow cover and unbelievable retail price caught my eye! Anyway, I was so impressed by their content (which is contributed by their readers!), as well as their overall look and feel that I just had to write in.  

Happily, their editor wrote back and I submitted a write up about my trip to Terengganu for their consideration. They wrote back to say that the article may be published in their November issue! I was over the moon, but the icing on the cake was when they asked me to write a 300-word piece for their October edition! I'm super excited to be part of this wonderful magazine. If you haven't gotten your I.M. on, check out their September cover and hunt them down at a newsstand near you :)
