Review: Fuze Restaurant @ The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya

Hi everyone! You may remember my review of The Everly Putrajaya not too  long ago. Well, we enjoyed our stay so much, that we decided to spend some time there, over the festive holidays. Actually, soon after posting my first review of the hotel, I sent them an email, just to let them know that I appreciated my stay there.

To my utter surprise, Mr Dennis Tan, the owner of The Everly Group, personally replied to my email! He also very kindly offered to treat my family and I to a complimentary dinner during our second stay. Isn't that wonderful?! Allow me to rave about my experience... and please bear with me, this is going to be a loooong post.

I love talking about food, but before we get to that, let's afford ourselves some time to take in our surroundings, shall we? Let's start at the beginning, that is... at the entrance to Fuze Restaurant. We came down to have dinner after Maghrib, at around 8.00 pm.

The restaurant interior is huge, and as you can see, there's lots of sleek lines and surfaces. The walls are in neutral grays and beiges, while the carpet and dining chairs anchor the room with a pop of colour.

I love the "woven" light fixtures, hanging in the middle of the restaurant. The architectural features in wood add warmth and the tall pillars, adorned with a rainbow of glass tiles, are a fun visual touch.

In a big space like this, it can be hard to create intimate dining spaces for different groups of people, but Fuze pulls it off. There's ample seating all over the restaurant, be it for large groups of 12...

Medium groups of six...

Or just dinner for two...

Oh, let's not forget to mention that the dining chairs are inscribed with Latin phrases! Carpe diem!

If you seek a private room for a very special occasion, they have it.

A look at the menu... and now, finally, on to the food!

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (14)
Some croissants to start things off, my son actually had a bit too much of this and ruined his dinner.. LOLS. What can I say, he loves bread!

Meanwhile, I have a thing for mushrooms, so I had the wild mushroom soup. Nice texture and strong shiitake flavour, which is perfect for my taste buds!

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (19)
I also had the savoury soft shell crab with arugula, orange segments and wasabi-mint dressing. Everything in this last sentence just makes my mouth water!

I washed it all down with pineapple juice, which was richly fruity and sweet.

My son had the tempura battered fish and chips with fuze fries, apple slaw and tzatziki sauce.

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (23)
He especially loved the fries, he kept going on and on about the herbs sprinkled on top for some reason! I believe his exact words were, "It really enhances the flavour." I have a food critic in the making here I think...

My husband had the roasted Australian lamb rack, served with sweet pumpkin, red quinoa, herb butter and jus. I had never had quinoa before, so I was pretty excited to try it.

He ordered his favourite... watermelon juice.

I spotted pavlova with whipped cream and berries on the menu, so I couldn't resist! It's so pretty, I could hardly eat it!

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (25)
My son wanted ice cream, but we didn't want to order anything fancy, as we weren't sure if he'd eat it. Ms Hein, the manager of the restaurant, very kindly got my son a bowl of ice cream.

Look who didn't finish his dinner and had to take it away :)

Here's Amir with Ms Hein and Nash, our wonderful hosts for the evening.

Our heartiest thanks and gratitude to Mr Dennis Tan, Ms Mary Loon, Ms Hein Nguyen and Mr Nash for this wonderful and memorable treat!

Since we loved our dinner at Fuze so much, I invited my family over for dinner the very next evening. Here's what we had the second night...

Besides creative Western and fusion dishes, Fuze also serves local fare, which is what most of us decided to go for. I had curry noodles - Yummy gravy!

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (33)
My husband had char kuey teow - Sedapnya!

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (32)
My brother had seafood fried rice. On a bed of veges!

My sis-in-law had nasi goreng kampung

Fuze Restaurant The Everly Hotel (29)
My mum had what my son had the night before, while my son had herb and parmesan chicken schitzel, which came with fennel slaw and beetroot mash potato.

My family and I had an awesome time at Fuze. So, if you happen to be staying at The Everly Putrajaya or just passing through Putrajaya, do drop in for a bite. The restaurant's open for breakfast from 6.30 - 10.30 am and...

Thanks very much for visiting and leaving a comment Sizzling Suzai. I don't expect anything in return when I review places and things. I just wanted The Everly Mgt to know that I really liked their hotel :) There have been times when I found a hotel/restaurant etc disappointing, and I wrote to their management to let them know of the shortcomings. I don't post those negative reviews here on my blog because I want to give the management the opportunity to make changes. I have stayed at the everly many times since then and I enjoy my stay each time. I also love Fuze's breakfast buffets :)
